First Island-based nursing degree

A new Island-based nursing degree will go some way to helping ease the shortage of mental health nurses in the Isle of Man.

That is according to Health Minister Eddie Teare, who describes the degree as a landmark achievement for nurse education over here.

For the first time people will be able to study on-Island and gain the qualification which is endorsed by the University of Chester.

The course will start in September, and Mr Teare (pictured) has high hopes for what it will mean for patient care:
