Further efforts to reduce TT accidents

The Chief Constable says the focus for policing during TT 2009 will be on the best way to reduce the number of accidents on open roads.

Mike Langdon says the 18 serious incidents and four deaths this year were the most disappointing aspect of the festival for him.

He says a great deal of work was done by his officers to keep road-users safe, and he believes without their efforts there would have been even more fatalities.

Mr Langdon s(pictured) says this is confirmed by the large number of convictions against people for traffic offences:
