MD apologises for mobile phone phoblems

Manx Telecom’s managing director has apologised for the two incidents which knocked out the Island’s mobile phone network last week.

Chris Hall (pictured) says the company installed new equipment some weeks ago and by sheer chance two separate parts failed within days of each other, affecting the service.

He says an investigation is now underway into why backup equipment didn’t kick in and take over the system.

But he says the company is truly sorry for the inconvenience to customers:
