Man fined for crossing closed roads

by isleofman.com 2nd June 2008
A man has been fined ?500 plus costs after walking on closed roads during Saturday afternoon's sidecar race.

John Stuart Glasgow a 31 year old car body repairer from Cookstown, Northern Ireland, crossed the course between Bedstead and the Nook just before the second lap of the event.

He claimed he thought the race had finished.

Inspector Will Campbell says the act endangered Mr Glasgow himself, competitors and course marshals.

He points out that anyone found committing a similar offence will be prosecuted.

The public are reminded that the TT course remains closed during races until the official Roads Open car has passed.

The advice is - if in any doubt DO NOT CROSS THE ROAD.
