The Office of Fair Trading has updated its advice to those still holding bookings with failed airline Euromanx.

After consulting with the Department of Transport and Flybe, the OFT says Flybe’s offer to give replacement flights to passengers is for a limited number of seats on each plane.

Once these run out, the airline offers either a free seat on another flight, or a paid-for seat on that plane.

The OFT says the current set of timetables only last until late October and winter schedules won’t be released until mid-June – but you should rebook with Flybe by the end of June.

If you can’t fly, the OFT says there are options available to you – you may still be protected if you booked by credit card, or if you booked through a travel agent. And some travel insurance policies may cover you for airline failure.

But the OFT says if you rebook with another airline under rescue arrangements, you shouldn’t ask your credit card company for a refund.
