Chairman's tribute as water works open

The new Douglas Water Treatment Works is being officially opened this evening, by the Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks.

The ?26.5 million project replaces the Glencrutchery works, which has served the Island for more than 70 years.

The new facility will treat up to 37 million litres of water a day, servicing around 70 per cent of the Island’s population, including Douglas, Onchan, Middle, south Laxey and the south of the Island.
