by isleofman.com 2nd May 2008
The Manx Labour Party is paying tribute to one of its stalwart members, Alfred Duggan whose funeral was held at St George's Church, Douglas this afternoon.

Leading party member and South Douglas MHK David Cretney says Mr Duggan, who died last weekend at the age of 95, was 'the last of a generation'.

David Cretney says the Pulrose community will remember him for his kindness and generosity, and his thoughtful approach in the family funeral, wedding and taxi firm.

Mr Duggan served for seven years as a labour member of Douglas Town Council.

He was a former mayor, and last year became a Freeman of the Borough.
