Minister reveals cost of board

The Board of Education has cost Isle of Man taxpayers almost half a million pounds in the last five years, according to Education Minister Anne Craine.

She gave the statistics in a written answer in Tynwald this week after a question from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson.

He asked how much the board had cost to run since 2003.

Mrs Craine (pictured) said the costs had varied, with the highest figure at almost ?119,000 in 2003, and its lowest at ?89,000 in 2004.
