Weighty issues for Tynwald

by isleofman.com 4th April 2008
There are 35 items on this month's Tynwald Order Paper.

Among the issues will be a report on the Poacher's Pocket development in Ballasalla and several financial motions.

The report from the select committee looking into the Poacher's Pocket development contains 7 key recommendations which relate directly to planning. The committee was formed to examine the use of delegated powers by the Director of Planning to approve major changes to the Poachers Pocket plan without reference to the Planning Committee.

There are two financial motions relating to the Airport Runway extension and a third airport car park, and two from the Department of Health - one for nearly a million and a half in relation to mental health rehabilitation and treatment and another calling for just over ?800,000 for a new GP surgery for Loch Promenade.

The Langness Footpath will be discussed once again, and a major report on the future of Manx Agriculture will be moved by DAFF Minister Phil Gawne.

The sitting will start at 10.30 on Tuesday April 15th.
