Bluetongue voluntary restrictions

The Island's farmers are being asked to not import any cattle or sheep until further notice, in an effort to stop bluetongue disease reaching our shores.

Manx National Farmers' Union President Howard Quayle says it's impossible to ban imports altogether because of European Union regulations, so the measures are voluntary.

They expand further on last month's ban on bringing in cows over one year-old and sheep over six months-old.
