Legislative Council - two nominations

by isleofman.com 20th March 2008
The third attempt to fill the vacant seat on the Legislative Council will be a two-horse race, following the withdrawal of former international businessman Dick Horsnall.

When nominations closed this evening only two candidates had come forward, broadcaster David Callister and former MHK and MLC Pamela Crowe.

Earlier this week Mr Callister fell one vote short of the 13 he needed to secure the seat, having polled eleven votes when the first election was held, on March 4. Mrs Crowe had support from nine MHKs on both occasions.

The third election will be held during the sitting of the House of Keys on April 8.
