Lena gives her views on today's 'Yoof'

A pupil from St Ninian's School, not long into her teens, has given members of Douglas Rotary Club an example of the quality of public speaking that is possible, if you have the talent.

Lena Dohvoma, and two of her fellow pupils, were winners in the senior section of the annual rotary competition to find young speakers with a real touch of class.

The efforts of the three earned their school ?500 which will go towards a video camera, to help others practice their public speaking, and audio equipment.

Without notes, Lena delivered a speech called 'Yoof 2-Day', during which she gave her audience at the Hilton Hotel a tongue in cheek view of how she and her school friends behave at Halloween (audio file attached):
