Former board members not to blame

by isleofman.com 20th March 2008
An Onchan MHK has denied suggestions some former board members are to blame for a 9% rate rise in the district.

The increase comes into effect at the beginning of next month and a requisition meeting’s taking place this evening (Thursday) - called for by members of the public so ratepayers can voice their concerns.

David Quirk, a former board member, accepts there could be many reasons for the above-inflation rise.

But he denies some of difficulties go back to his time on the board:

The meeting takes place at Onchan Parish Hall at 8pm tonight.
