Braddan Bridge closed to traffic

Part of the Peel Road has closed to traffic, so major resurfacing work can be carried out.

Braddan Bridge will be out of bounds for motorists throughout the weekend, between its junctions with Saddle Road and Braddan School Road.

The Department of Transport hopes it will reopen by first thing on Monday morning, although that is subject to the weather over the weekend.

Director of Highways Bruce Hannay says clear diversion signs are in place, and disruption will be kept to a minimum, as far as possible.

He says ultimately the scheme will be of huge benefit to motorists:
