Bromsgrove inquest continues

by isleofman.com 7th March 2008
An accident investigator who compiled a report into the tragedy which killed a 41 year-old diver from Liverpool has said he was used to a better environment for safety.

Technologist Dr Alexander Seas was speaking at the inquest of Michael Bromsgrove, who drowned during a dive in Port Erin in April two years ago.

Dr Seas said he believed simple modifications could have prevented the accident and that a loose battery connection had caused Mr Bromsgrove's oxygen supply to close down, which led to him losing conciousness.

He criticised the equipment manufacturer and told the court that, had a power supply been reliable, the accident would not have occurred.

The inquest continues today (Friday) at Douglas Courthouse (pictured, right)
