Council nominations close today

by isleofman.com 7th March 2008
Nominations for the vacant seat on the Legislative Council must be in by the end of today.

In this House of Keys this week three members - Clare Christian, Eddie Lowey and Juan Turner - regained their seats for terms of five years.

Pam Crowe was unsuccessful, as were Manx Radio's David Callister, former international businessman Dick Horsnall and former police officer Simon Graley.

Mr Graley has pulled out of the race for the remaining place, but the other three have confirmed they will be standing again.

The next election will be at the sitting of the House of Keys on Tuesday, March 18.
