MLC investigated after assault claim

by isleofman.com 28th February 2008
Allegations of bullying, verbal abuse and common assault have been made against a member of the Legisltive Council.

The claims, against Pamela Crowe, are being investigated by the Tynwald Standards Committee, which meets, when required, to consider the conduct of members.

Committee Chairman, and Speaker of the House of Keys, Steve Rodan confirmed to Manx Radio an investigation was under way, and the six member committee would be sitting tomorrow to start its deliberations.

Mrs Crowe, one of seven candidates for four seats in next Tuesday's Legislative Council election, is strongly denying the allegations, which are thought to have been made by a member of staff at Central Government Offices.
