Thomas gets second chance

by isleofman.com 28th February 2008
A 23 year old Douglas woman who admitted dealing cannabis has been given a 'second chance' by Deemster Doyle.

Victoria Thomas, of Marathon Road, pleaded guilty to numerous offences including cultivating, supplying and possessing the drug.

Almost ?1200 in cash as well as cannabis bush and resin worth a similar amount were found when police searched Thomas' home in March last year.

A mobile with a text asking for bush was also uncovered.

Thomas' advocate said she'd got into debt because of her ?50 a day weed habit and had tried to reduce what she owed by selling it for her dealer.

Deemster Doyle gave her a 12 month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and warned her to stay away from drugs in the future.
