Power to Roads Policing

by isleofman.com 25th February 2008
It's all change for the police from today.

A large number of promotions and moves within the constabulary have been announced.

Superintendent Paul Cubbon will take overall responsibility for neighbourhood policing.

He will be assisted by Chief Inspector Simon Lowe, who has been promoted from the post as Inspector in charge of the Western Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Chief Inspector Lowe will have specific responsibility for young people; drugs and alcohol policy and the Constabulary’s approach to call handling and quality of service.

Other changes see Inspector Sid Caine of the Eastern Team transfer to head the Constabulary’s major crime team. His place will be taken by Inspector Helen Mason, previously a Sergeant in Ramsey.

And Inspector Richard Power will now head up the Roads Policing Unit, taking over from Inspector Derek Flint.

As a road user himself and parent of a teenage driver, he says he's looking forward to the challenge:
