by isleofman.com 25th February 2008
A small group of Manx athletes competed at the English Cross Country Championships at Alton Towers at the weekend.

Sarah Astin finished 14th in the under 15 race, and Keith Gerrard matched her performance in the senior men's event, against almost 1250 other athletes. Kevin Loundes and John Halligan were 130th and 148th respectively. The six man Manx Harriers team finished 38th out of 99.

Gemma Astin was 32nd in the under 17 race, and Gail Griffiths was 154th out of almost 500 finishers in the senior ladies category.

Unfortunately Ryan Fairclough had to pull out of the under 20 race after suffering an ankle injury.
