Border TV appeals for Manx help

A Cumbrian MP and well-known Border TV presenter Fiona Armstrong have today (Friday) asked the Council of Ministers for their support in maintaining Border TV's news coverage.

ITV plans to merge the Border and Tyne Tees regions to save money, a move which is seen as a threat to local coverage, despite ITV bosses saying a new merged news service would contain at least 12 minutes of Border region news.

Manx viewers are being asked to send in postcards to Ofcom, the communications watchdog, to keep the coverage going.
