MERS furious at rail closure

The Manx Electric Railway Society has reacted furiously to a decision by the Department of Tourism and Leisure to close part of the track this summer.

Minister Adrian Earnshaw made the announcement in Tynwald yesterday (Weds), saying sections of the track were deemed unsatisfactory by consultants.

Spokesman Julian Nutter says this adds to a catalogue of disasters that have followed the appointment of the Minister, and called for him to resign.

And he called into question the suitability of consultants CDL:
