Major events were announced for TT 2008 at last night's launch party, including the news some British rock legends would be gracing the Villa Marina at this year's event.

Status Quo will take to the Royal Hall stage on Tuesday, June the third, with tickets going on sale online on March the first from 10am at villagaiety.com.

They'll then be available as well from the ticket hotline and at the DTL's Welcome Centre from March the third at 10am.

Meanwhile, the organisers have secured a special exhibition of TT photographs, which'll be displayed at London's Getty Images Gallery but will make the journey over here for the festival fortnight.

And Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw also revealed there'd be a special parade to mark a pair of Ducati milestones:
