Manx National Heritage is to mark the 75th anniversary of the death of internationally renowned Manx born artist Archibald Knox by hosting a special display of his work.

The commemorative display, in the National Art Gallery at the Manx Museum in Douglas, opens on Wednesday and will include a new interpretive banner detailing his work and life.

Manx National Heritage has an extensive collection both of original designs and examples of jewellery, fabrics, papers, Liberty ‘silverware and ‘Tudric’ pewterware, as well as a large number of watercolour paintings.

Recognised as one of the foremost designers in the English Art Nouveau movement, Knox taught locally and in London and was in demand as a book illustrator and designer of illuminated addresses and public memorials.
