Bluetongue outbreak in Northern Ireland.

Bluetongue disease has been confirmed in Northern Ireland for the first time.

It was found in a dairy cow imported from the Netherlands to a County Antrim
farm last month.

The Ulster Farmers' Union is calling for an immediate voluntary end to
livestock imports until further notice.

Manx Radio's Farming Correspondent John Kennaugh (pictured) says the mild weather increases the chances of such insect borne diseases spreading:
