Marketing expert to provide free advice

Douglas councillors have had a change of heart and say they will now meet an Island-based marketer to pick up tips on how to promote the town’s horse trams.

Island 21 had offered the services of Richard Falk, who said he would be happy to give free advice on marketing, rather than see services cut back to reduce its losses.

Council leader David Christian dismissed the suggestion, saying no experts had been needed in the past.

But Charles Flynn of Island 21 says the Leisure Services Committee has now agreed to meet (audio file attached):
