P50 moves to House of Manannan

by isleofman.com 13th February 2008
An example of the world’s smallest car has gone on display at the House of Manannan in Peel.

The P50 has been loaned from the Manx Transport Museum Group.

The Manx Transport Museum is closed until Easter and it was felt the P50 (pictured) was too interesting an exhibit to be locked away in storage throughout the winter.

Designed by Manxmen Cyril Cannell and Henry Kissack and manufactured by the former Peel Engineering, only 200 of the cars were made.

At its launch, the car was marketed as 'almost cheaper than walking', doing 100 miles to the gallon and retailing for under ?200.
