Man jailed for assaulting wife

by isleofman.com 13th February 2008
A man who assaulted his wife and a police office has been jailed. Stephen Ince of Victoria Avenue, Douglas admitted both offences.

They happened at the defendants home. Police found Michelle Ince with severe bruising. She was later found to have a displaced fracture of the cheek. After admitting the assault, her husband became aggressive and also assaulted a police officer.

Ince said he deeply regretted his actions. He was told by the High Bailiff that the courts views on domestic violence were well known. Ince hadn't taken the chance of an earlier suspended sentence for threatening his wife.
