Local view on Sharia justice

The debate over the adoption of Muslim law principles in the UK has been over- sensationalised, according to a Manx advocate.

The international media had picked up on an interview by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who suggested that Sharia Law was an inevitability in Britain - although he's since apologised for not wording his comments more clearly.

Local lawyer John Wright (pictured) says it's simply a matter of accepting that subordinate arbitration already exists - for those who agree to it - in many civil and religious matters:
