Big year for Children's Centre

by isleofman.com 11th February 2008
The Isle of Man Children’s Centre is looking forward to a year of fun, fundraising and events as it celebrates its 140th birthday.

The centre was founded in 1868 by Henry Bloom Noble who wanted to help the poor and destitute orphans of Douglas.

This year it’s appealing for the community to get involved in the celebrations.

Chief Executive John Knight says the centre is one of the Island’s success stories.

Jason Roberts reports (text, below, from attached audio file):

The charity says although its work has changed significantly over the years, its aim is still the same: to provide quality care in a stable and supportive environment.

Alongside its fundraising work, this year will see the centre host a series of events to raise awareness in the mind of the Manx public.

But it also wants businesses and other organisations to get involved.

If you can help, you can get in touch with the fundraising team on 676076.
