Breast screening 'call and recall' service

The Health Service in the Isle of Man has finally launched its Breast Screening 'call and recall' service, with financial help from the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer association.

Now, women aged between 50 and 70 will automatically be contacted for screening every two years - those outside this 'at-risk' group can continue to self-refer or talk to their GP if they have concerns.

DHSS member Pam Crowe MLC says it would be lovely to offer even more types of screening - early detection is often the key to succesful treatment - but the health service would need more financial support to achieve this:
