Primary school sculpture commissioned

by isleofman.com 7th February 2008
Pupils at Willaston School are looking forward to a stunning new sculpture in their playground.

The youngsters have been working on ideas for the piece since last September, painting and drawing, and making models in plasticine and plaster.

Those ideas were shown to the local community last week and now the final proposal has been approved by the Isle of Man Arts Council.

The prototype is on display at Ronaldsway Airport until the end of the month and will be created by artist Krista Magee with funding from the lottery.

The finished piece should be finished by the end of the summer term.

NB: In case you're wondering - the press release doesn't give a single clue as to what the sculture looks like - give the Arts Council a ring to get piccy for the web site?
