Free advice for horse trams

Sustainability think-tank Island 21 says the door’s still open if Douglas council wants expert advice on how to market the horse trams.

Last week, council leader David Christian dismissed the idea, saying the council had been running the trams for years without “experts crawling out the woodwork”.

But Charles Flynn of Island 21 says a member of the organisation is one of Europe’s best marketing specialists and wanted to give advice free of charge.

He says the trams could be part of an integrated transport policy and so despite the harsh words, the offer still stands:
