Sentence on a man charged with assaulting two police officers has been adjourned by the High Bailiff for reports.

Nathan Isaac Holliday of Willaston Crescent, Douglas, admitted both offences.

Stuart Peters reports:

(Text of attached audio)
Inspector Michael Mussen said police were called to a disturbance at a flat in Belmont Terrace at 1.10am on December 2nd where the defendant was described as being very aggressive, screaming and shouting.

He headbutted one of the officers, PC Moore, causing both of them to fall back into a bathroom and the door to close behind them.

Another officer, PC Breadner, managed to open the door and handcuff Holliday. He continued to struggle and shout, then launched himself at PC Breadner and headbutted him.

During interview the defendant told police he had drunk seven cans of lager and he was drunk.

Halliday was bailed until March 4th:
