Munich recordings broadcast for first time

Audio recordings of Manchester United players speaking after the Munich Air Disaster have been released by a Port Erin man.

Roy Gough was a neighbour of United striker Dennis Viollet and recorded messages from the players' families to be sent to those recuperating in a Munich hospital.

Today marks the 50 anniversary of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of eight players and 15 club staff, UK journalists and flight crew.

Mr Gough has allowed the media access to the return messages from players including Viollet, goalkeeper Ray Wood and this extract from Bobby Charlton (pictured):
