DHSS pay scales

by isleofman.com 6th February 2008
The Department of Health and Social Security says it will publish pay settlements to health workers this summer.

Health Minister Eddie Teare was responding to a question in the House of Keys about new pay scales for DHSS professionals.

Michael MHK David Cannan asked for a list of old and new scales along with an average figure for the amount of back pay each worker will receive.

But Mr Teare (pictured) said the pay modernisation programme affected almost two and a half thousand workers and so wasn’t available yet.

Jason Roberts reports:

Mr Teare said it was impossible to compare the old and new pay scales as requested by Mr Cannan.

But he said both sets of figures would be lodged with the Tynwald library and made available for public viewing.

However, in response to Mr Cannan’s question about health workers’ average pay arrears, Mr Teare said more than 2,300 jobs would have to be reviewed.

He added all back pay would be paid by July, and the average figure would only be available then.
