Commissioner's fingerprint fears

Air passengers from the Isle of Man may soon be forced to give their fingerprints, when travelling via Heathrow on domestic routes.

That prospect has emerged ahead of the opening of Terminal Five in a few months time.

It's understood British Airways will use the same security measures on both domestic and international flights, and has quietly introduced compulsory fingerprinting.

Peel MHK Rodger Gimbert has raised concerns at the additional collection of data from Manx residents, many of whom fly to Heathrow via Manchester.
