Child poverty figures out of date - Moffatt

The Manx government needs more up to date figures on the extent of child poverty in the Island, if it is to do anything to ease the problem.

That's the view of the Celtic League, which says it is dismayed that the only data available comes from a ten yearly survey of household income.

Figures show 14 per cent of children were living in households with less than 60 per cent of the median income.

The League's Bernard Moffatt (pictured) says that snapshot of relative poverty shows that despite the Island's economic success wealth is not 'trickling down' to where it's needed:
