MD says natural gas would be 'good news'

The Managing Director of Manx Gas has told the Island "you would get a good deal if the whole Island switched to natural gas".

Alan Bates has the support of Chief Minister Tony Brown in his company's ambition to spread natural gas out from Douglas and the immediate surrounding area to replace the current supplies of LPG.

He admits that when the switch-over happened in the capital four years ago, there were many problems. But, he says, they have learned a lot since then:
