Justify cartel claims, says OFT

Onchan MHK Peter Karran is being heavily criticised for his recent comments about there being a cartel of food producers in the Isle of Man who keep prices artificially high.

In next week's House of Keys, the Office of Fair Trading chairman, Quintin Gill, will ask Mr Karran to disclose any evidence he has which will back up his allegations.

Mr Gill says he and other OFT board members are becoming increasingly concerned by Mr Karran's repeated insinuations about the food industry.

He says the Liberal Vannin Leader has so far failed to provide any information to back up his claims (audio file attached):
