The official launch for the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, which will be held in the Isle of Man, is taking place this lunchtime (Fri).

Invited guests at the Villa Marina will hear which sports are going to be included in the event.

There will be speeches from, among others, Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw, Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation Michael Hooper, and Chairman of the 2011 Organising Committee Geoff Karran.

Mr Hooper says the Commonwealth games have changed beyond all recognition since their inauguration:

The 2011 games will be held from 7th - 13th September.
