Windy conditons on roads

by isleofman.com 31st January 2008
High winds and heavy rain are causing problems on the Island's roads this morning (Thurs).

The Patrick Road in Peel is currently closed due to a fallen tree and landslide. Workers from the Department of Transport are working to clear the area, but motorists are advised that the road will remain closed until at least 4pm.

Police say trees and debris have fallen on to roads around the Island and whilst the DOT have been working throughout the night to keep routes clear, there could be debris in many places and they describe road conditions as 'treacherous'.

As usual the advice to motorists is to slow down and drive with extra care.
