British Sidecar Trial Stars Ready

The cream of British Sidecar Trials riders and passengers will compete on the Island this weekend at the Andy Smith Trophy Trial - the opening round of the 2008 British Championship.

32 sidecars will tackle the Manx terrain including defending Champions Jon Tuck and Matt Sparkes. Multi-title winners Robin and Gill Morewood and Robin Luscombe and Les Ashby are also in the starting line-up.

Manx Centre Champions Jamie Teare and Jane Birchall will be hoping for a good showing, as will Juan Knight and Chris Molyneux.

Mark Bimson and Julie Owen should shine in the smaller Intermediate Class.

Signing-on is from 8 o'clock at Knock Froy on Saturday for a start an hour later.

The teams will then face sections at Knock Froy, Ballahowin Parkland, Old Stoney Mountain, Cooilingel, Kings Forest, Ballavitchell, Glen Lough and Corvalley Farm.
