Proctorial by-election results

Canon David Green has been elected to the position of Proctor in Convocation for the Diocese of Sodor and Man.

Canon Green received 13 nominations, while the Reverend Michael Roberts received 7.

Canon Green has been the Vicar of Maughold, where he lives, since 1990 and holds a number of positions in the Manx church including Rural Dean of Ramsey.

As proctor, he will represent the Isle of Man on the General Synod (Sin-odd) of the Church of England, and was elected by a combonation active clergy and one representative of the retired clergy.

The General Synod makes laws which govern the Church and also debates issues of the moment.

Canon Green takes over from the retired Reverend Ernest Pettengell and will attend his first meeting in London in February.
