Dieters raise money for Alder Hey

by isleofman.com 24th January 2008
A team of strong willed members of the Isle of Man Constabulary's Public Protection Unit is attempting to lose weight to gain pounds.

The six dieters, Detective Inspector Turner, Sergeant Catherine Bradley, domestic abuse officer Judith Bradford and Child Protection Officers Sue Carine, Ali Thompson and Gill Young, are raising money for Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

It's after Gill's five-year-old son Toby was treated for a brain tumour there.

The aim is to lose Toby's weight, three stone and six pounds, in total.

The diet will run for three months until April 16.

Anyone wishing to make a donation or offer diet tips should contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
