A 22 year old man with an 'appalling record' has been jailed for ten months by the High Bailiff.

James Devereaux admitted two charges of common assault and one of disorderly behaviour relating to an incident at Fiesta Havana nightclub on December the 29th.

He also admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour at the Outback nightclub on December the 12th.

James Davis reports:

(Text of attached audio)
Devereaux was aggressive to members of the public in Fiesta Havana on December the 29th and was asked to leave by staff. He was swearing and continued to be aggressive and said he would 'stamp on the head' of one of the security officers, before spitting.

He was arrested by police and admitted being abusive and drunk.

The defendant was also detained at the Outback on December the 12th after fighting with a man on the dancefloor. He said he wasn't that drunk at the time of the incident and said he had been attacked first.

His advocate said that even though he was holding a bottle, he didn't use it, and asked this to be considered. He also asked for Devereaux's early guility plea to be taken into account.

In sentencing, Mr Moyle said the aggravating factor was his record. He also banned Devereaux from entering on-licensed premises for three years.
