Problem drinking affects old and young

Whilst the latest research shows that the Isle of Man faces broadly similar alcohol misuse levels to our counterparts in the UK, two significant groups stand out as needing particular help.

The island's Alcohol Advisory Service is hosting a public seminar on drinking problems next month at Keyll Daree, which will look further into the issues and look at ways of reducing alcohol consumption.

Director of the Isle of Man Alcohol Advisory Service Thea Ozenturk says some of the statistics from the Island make for uneasy reading:
