by isleofman.com 22nd January 2008
The winner of this year's Reih Bleeaney Vanannan trophy says we should celebrate the vast array of people from different countries and cultures who have moved to the Isle of Man in recent times.

Dr Brian Stowell was speaking on the day it was revealed the Manx Goverment has issued or renewed more than 9,000 work permits for people from all parts of the world in the past twelve months.

He says we should celebrate this addition to the cultural diversity of the Island (audio file attached):

The Reih Bleeaney Vanannan trophy is awarded annually for outstanding contribution to the Island's culture and heritage.
