Gill claims most mileage allowance

It's been revealed members of Tynwald claimed a total of almost ?25,000 in mileage allowances last year.

In a written question, Onchan MHK David Quirk asked Treasury Minister Allan Bell for a list of those who had submitted claims, between November 2006 and December 2007.

Topping the list was Rushen MHK Quintin Gill (pictured) with ?3,916. Pam Crowe MLC was close behind on ?3,835.

At the bottom of the list was former West Douglas MHK Dominic Delaney, who claimed ?42. Mr Delaney retired just before November 2006 general election.

Next lowest was Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw, with just over ?88.
