DHSS unites for change

by isleofman.com 18th January 2008
The DHSS has completed the modernisation of its pay, terms and conditions project, and says it is now better placed to recruit from off-island.

It's the result of a joint approach by managers and Unite, after the union approached the department.

The reform brings the Isle of Man into line with United Kingdom standards and increases the scope for staff development.

Regional Industrial Organiser for Unite, Mick Hewer, says he would encourage other government departments to follow the lead of the DHSS in developing partnerships when dealing with industrial relations.
